Presentation Panel
Build slide decks from your dashboards’ charts, your own data, text and images. Present full screen with live filters, share with colleagues, and export to PDF.
What it is
The Presentation Panel lets you assemble a deck the same way you would in a slide editor, except the charts are real iMatriX charts. Pick a chart from any dashboard you can see, or paste your own table, and drop it onto a slide. When you present, viewers can click a chart and change its filters on the spot.
It is made for analysts, project managers and anyone who reports results to clients or leadership and wants slides that always match the data.
Key features
- Charts from your dashboards, including project funnels, flow diagrams, price views and distribution plots, each with its own filters.
- Charts from your own data: paste from a spreadsheet, upload a CSV or a workbook, or connect a database you already have access to.
- Many chart types for your own data: bar, line, area, bars and lines, radar, waterfall, donut, treemap, scatter and bubble, sunburst, circle packing and flow (Sankey).
- Ready-made layouts: Title, Title + chart, Two charts, Chart + takeaways, Big number, Section and Blank, plus dashboard pages with 4 or 6 charts.
- Backgrounds from six presets or nine custom designs (solid, gradient, spotlight, dots, grid, stripes, diagonal, rings, checker) in any colour. Text colour adjusts for readability.
- Value labels as numbers or percentages, ten colour themes, or recolour a single bar, slice or line with one click.
- Charts are drawn larger than on a dashboard, with four size steps (S, M, L, XL), so they stay readable from the back of a room.
- Light and Dark appearance, shapes, rounded and circular images, text styles from Title to Caption, and a footer with page numbers.
- Present full screen with page transitions (fade, slide, zoom or none) and filters you can change live. Changes made while presenting are for that run only.
- Share with named colleagues as viewers or editors. Several people can edit the same deck and see each other; edits are merged for you.
- Export the whole deck as a PDF, straight from the browser.
- Autosave on every change.
Getting started
- 1Open Presentation from the sidebar and choose New Slide. Name your deck.
- 2Click New page and choose a layout. The picker shows a live miniature of each one.
- 3Click a chart frame to open the chart picker. Choose a dashboard chart, or one from “Your own data”.
- 4For your own data, open the Data tab and paste a table or upload a file. The first row holds headers, the first column holds labels, and every other column becomes a series of numbers.
- 5Use the Filters, Labels, Colors and Style tabs to shape the chart. Click text or an image to edit it directly.
- 6Press Present to see it full screen.
You need access to a dashboard’s data to show its charts. Without it, the chart appears as a labelled placeholder instead.
Common tasks
Present a deck
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| Right arrow, Space, Page Down | Next page |
| Left arrow, Page Up | Previous page |
| Home / End | First / last page |
| F | Full screen |
| Esc | Leave |
While presenting, click any chart to open its filters on the right, switch between numbers and percentages, then press Reset charts to return to the saved view.
Share a deck
Choose Share, search for a colleague and give them view or edit access. People you share with can remove the deck from their own list; only you can delete it for everyone, and the confirmation tells you how many people will lose access.
Export
Press PDF in the editor, or the PDF button on any deck in the list. Each page is captured exactly as it looks on screen, in the current Light or Dark appearance.
Design your own background
Next to the preset swatches, open the palette button. Choose a design, two colours (or hex codes), a direction and a pattern size, and use “Use on all pages” to apply it across the deck.
Tips and limits
- A page holds up to 6 charts.
- Images can be JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, AVIF or SVG, up to 2 MB each.
- Tables pasted into a chart are meant for small data sets (about 60 KB). For larger data, connect a database instead.
- If a colleague saves while you are editing and your copy is out of date, the editor offers “Load the latest version” so nothing is overwritten silently.
- Click a legend entry to hide or show a series, in the editor and while presenting.
